DXCC - RMN Cagayan de Oro and IBP conduct the Candidates Forum

The station, DXCC - RMN Cagayan de Oro in cooperation with the Integrated Bar of the Philippines conducted POLITIKA NGAYON, The Candidates Forum started exactly 2:30 in the afternoon at Southern Philippines College covered court. The event was participated by students from different Colleges and Universities and different sectors.

Candidates for Mayor, Vice – Mayor, 1st and 2nd districts for House of Representatives and party list were invited on the said forum. All candidates and party list representative were given three (3) minutes to let the public know on their plans for our city. Audience was given the chance to ask their questions to the candidates. The candidates actively answered the questions from the students and different sectors. To end the activity, the moderator IBP gave the candidates and the representatives of their party list the chance to say their message to the public.

The activity was indeed a successful one. It was a great venue to know the candidates’ platform and sincerity on public service. The organizers are very grateful to Southern Philippines College for the valuable support for the successful event.

Valenzuela Councilor Shalani Soledad, the famous girlfriend of Senator Noynoy Aquino who is running for President in the May 2010 election, visited SPC last January 29, 1010 to promote the Liberal Party.

With the main platform of good governance, the Liberal Party promises change in the government, one that is free from corruption.  Students asked varied questions on the plans of Senator Noynoy ranging from eradication of poverty to education. 

Where Noynoy is concerned, showbiz questions were likewise thrown to Councilor Shalani who gamely answered them to the student's delight.

The visit ended with Councilor Shalani encouraging the youth to vote wisely and conscientiously.
